My "Sonar Bangla"

Kalapaharia Union is a small wonderful island in Araihazar upozilla
of Narayangonj district in Bangladesh. It’s called island because the
area is
rounded by the river Meghna. The union is consisted by fourteen villages. There are Jhawkandi, Maddarchar, Purbakandi, Bibirkandi, Badalpur, Kadmirchar, Nayagaw, Gobindapur, Ezerkandi, Kalapaharia, Radhanogor, Hazirtek, Olukandi, and Khaliarchar. The People of here are very simple minded and friendly. They are kindness heart.

There live about 40 thousand people. Maximum people of here are farmer. A little number of them jobholder. Nazrul Islam Babu (Member of Parliament) is a well known, educated and conscious political leader who is trying enough to develop this Union. Another person Md. Shopon who is present Chairman and well educated young leader of this Union.

There has single primary government school in every village. Kalapaharia Union High School is secondary level educational institute and a famous institute in Araihazar upozilla.

The Students of this union are now taking study in various well-known University/College in different 1^st class subjects. Kalapaharia Union Parishad is near by High School.

The People of this Union are now working in abroad like Malaysia, Saudi Arab, Dubai, Oman, Kuwait and many other countries in the world. We should respect them because they are playing important rules in our economic field.

The People of this Union are very humorous. They arrange Jatrapala, Baulgaan and concert on open field.

In rainy season people arrange boat race. This Game is very exciting and people enjoy it very much.

Boys like to play different types of game like cricket, football and ha-dodo etc. But girls are like to play kanamachi, bo-bo, dariabanda, gollachut, sap-lodu etc.
